1. Practice Stillness
Make the conscious choice to slow down, breathe & sit in stillness. Do this for 5-10 minutes in the morning within the first hour of waking as well as before bed at night.
2. Small Promises
Rebuild trust by making small promises to yourself for a few days at a time. Remember, these are micro-commitments that you can consistently keep. For example: commit to going for a walk around the block while you drink your coffee in the morning. Do a walking meditation by tuning into your breath as you go. Gift yourself proof that you can keep the promises you make to yourself & work your way up to bigger commitments as your confidence grows!
3. Be Emotionally Available
Choose to be with your emotions rather than reject them when they come up. Get curious about your innermost thoughts, feelings & emotions. See them as opportunities to deepen your sense of self. Open the door by journaling each day to gain access to suppressed thoughts, feelings & muted emotions.
4. Look Through Your Lens Of Love
Say, “I’m not engaging with or entertaining that thought.” When you find yourself being hard, critical or judgment towards yourself. Practice the mantra, “I love & accept myself.”
5. Mindful Movement
Get out of your head & into your body by moving in any way that feels good to you! Close your eyes if you can & feel through your movement rather than carrying expectations about what it must ‘look’ like. For example, you could dance to 2-3 songs that bring you peace, connection & joy while you make coffee. Keep it simple & start small. You’ve got this.
I’ll be here if you need me.
