How To Use A Mantra

Mindfulness

Good morning,

Today I’ll be focusing on the power of using mantras during meditation and breathwork. Chanting or focusing on a mantra during meditation is a tool you can use to go deeper into your journey within by releasing your mind from distractions.

The word mantra can be broken down into two parts: “man,” which means mind, and “tra,” which means transport or vehicle.

The benefits of using a mantra in your meditation practice are a deepened meditative state, a strengthened sense of peace, heightened self-awareness, reduced anxiety, elevated mood, improved well-being & mental clarity.

Follow these steps to start using a mantra

1. Select a mantra that speaks to you. You can start with “Om”, one that I wrote above, or write your own (CWB clients receive their own custom mantra’s that I write for them!)

2. Set a timer, find a comfortable place, close your eyes, get still and find your breath. Start to focus on your mantra, repeating it out loud to yourself or in your mind.

3. Let your breath create a natural rhythm with the mantra i.e inhale and visualize yourself in the highest light, exhale and say or think your mantra, then repeat for 5-10 minutes

4. Bring your focus back to your breath & your mantra if & when your mind wanders to something else.

5. Close your meditation with a bow to yourself — repeat it daily

Tip: You’re likely almost always near your phone, which is why I recommend setting a daily timer or reminder on your phone with your mantra in it as the title, that way you’re being reminded of it throughout the day! Focus your energy on it & be consistent.

What’s your go-to mantra? Share below & see others to get inspired for ideas when you write your own.

With love,

I am full of powerful peace. Really remembering my breath and getting back to the basics help me get back to this state. It helps me Remember who I am and what I have healed from.

I love your mantra. Peace and power coexist beautifully! You’re right, returning to the basics is always a great way to get back on track. I’m sending you love!
